김정화 민생당 공동대표는 "민생당은 '셀프제명' 사태와 관련한 법원의 가처분신청 인용 결정을 환영한다"고 밝혔다. 법원은 민생당이 전신인 바른미래당 시절 '셀프제명'을 의결한 비례대표 의원 8명에 대해 제명 절차 취소를 요구하며 낸 가처분 신청을 받아들였다. 김 공동대표는 "어제 법원의 결정은 대의민주주의의 근간을 흔들고, 정당 정치를 후퇴시키려는 시도에 제동을 건 것으로 평가한다"면서 "이른바 위성정당·비례연합정당 등으로 이번 총선에서 동료 시민의 선택을 받겠다는 저열한 정략적 발상의 무모함을 다시 한번 확인한 것"이라고 말했다. 그는 "'셀프제명'의 위헌·위법성이 법원에 의해 확인된 지금, 거대 양당은 즉각 불법 위성정당을 해산하고 정정당당하게 동료 시민의 심판을 기다려야 마땅하다"고 힘주어 말했다.
