HUG는 주택도시보증공사이다. HUG is The Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation. HUG가 사상 최고치의 전세보증금을 지불했다.  HUG paid the highest charter deposit ever. 지난해 세입자에게 집주인을 대신해 돌려준 전세보증금이다. This is a charter deposit returned to the tenant on behalf of the landlord last year. 이른바 전세금반환보증보험 대위변제이다. It is a so-called charter repayment of cheonsei return guarantee insurance. 금액은 2,836억원에 달했다. The amount amounted to 283.8 billion. 2018년(583억원)에 비해 5배 가까이 급증한 수치다.  This is a five-fold increase from 2018 (583 billion won). 전세금반환보증보험은 집주인이 계약 기간 만료 후에도 전세보증금을 돌려주지 못하면 HUG가 가입자(세입자)에게 대신 보증금을 지급(대위변제)해주는 것이다.
